How to Build Social Media Campaign
How to build social media campaignHow to build an effective social network marketing campaign By :- Gaurav Shah (39) Abstract- Social media is growing rapidly, a study conducted shows that 79 % of big corporation leverage social media to engage their customers and they are using innovative ways to build buzz, foster communication, improve products, and cultivate long-term brand awareness and consumer trust. It doesnââ¬â¢t matter whether you're a seasoned producer of award-winning viral campaigns or are just learning how to create aà Facebookà profile. The beauty of social media is that you don't need experience; you only need to learn a few basic rules. Social media is not so much a new idea as it is a way to communicate ideas, and the nature of a good idea hasn't changed. The same marketing principles from 50 years ago apply today; they are simply communicated in a different way.The basic principles behind a successful social-media campaign ââ¬â engaging content and authen ticity ââ¬â apply whether you are launching a celebrity-driven viral campaign or a simple online contest to drive website traffic. Designing the campaign, from concept to content to delivery, is where you can be creative; to design a good one requires careful analysis of your goals and your target audience's behavior in order to deliver a message that engages in the most effective and interesting way possible.Still, even with so many variables, most successful social media campaigns are modeled after prototypes that employ proven promotional tactics and conventional marketing psychology. The challenge is not so much in the concept, but rather in its execution. 1. Raise brand awareness by hosting an online game or contest. 2. Drive valuable traffic to your social network with a free giveaway. 3. Grow consumer loyalty by giving consumers a stake in your brand. 4. Build brand equity by aligning with a higher purpose.

The Legacy Of The 1980 S - 1232 Words
The 1980ââ¬â¢s marked a period of great strength and ideology for the modern Republican Party and Conservative movement still revered in the 21st century. This period is marked by a man that represented and embodied the goals of their party, Ronal Reagan, who was elected to the office of President of the United States of America in 1981. His economic policies, communications strategies, and personality are traits that conservatives strive to emulate looking to him as the model Republican. These fell well in line with the deeply conservative standpoint against social welfare. Reagan also appealed to the more morally conservatives by his own moral and religious standpoints (121). Definition of Irony Essay - 652 Words
Definition of Irony Irony is a word that has been around in my life since I was six years old. I remember it exactly, the day that the word entered my vocabulary. My mom and I were driving to my grandmaââ¬â¢s house and I was reading a ââ¬Å"Calvin and Hobbesâ⬠comic from the paper earlier that morning. Calvin had been saving a snowball in the freezer for 4 months and was going to use it. He snuck up on his nemesis, Suzy, and threw it as hard as he could, and missed. He goes into hysterics, wondering how he could have missed that perfect shot, while, at the same time Suzy is scooping up the pile of snow lying in front of her. Calvin turns in time to see Suzy grinning as she hurls it in his face. The last panel has Calvin lying on the groundâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦This means that you can make fun of someone, and make them feel really dumb, which is something that the media loves to do. The T.V. shows ââ¬Å"Saturday Night Liveâ⬠, ââ¬Å"Friendsâ⬠, ââ¬Å"Fraiserâ⬠, and â⠬Å"The Simpsonsâ⬠are all perfect examples of irony. ââ¬Å"Fraiserâ⬠is a show that loves to use the concept of irony to play with the characters of the show, getting them into some precarious situations. Irony in entertainment isnââ¬â¢t something new though. In greek tragedies, famous playwrights used irony to entertain audiences for years. Sophicles used irony in one of his most famous plays, ââ¬Å"Oedipusâ⬠where a young couple, who were King and Queen of a land, were told by a prophecy that their son would kill the father. Frightened by this knowledge, they took their son and chained him to a mountain far away. A shepherd found the boy and raised him as his own. The boy grew to become a man, and, while walking on a path, was told to move so that a royal coach may pass. He didnââ¬â¢t want to move and ended up killing all of the guards and the king himself. He then ventured to the next town, which happened to be the city where his parents ruled, and wound up marrying the queen. When they found out what had happened, he took a pin and jabbed out his eyes. The Greeks knew that word as ironia, which is latin. They knew it to mean dissimulation, ignorance purposely aff ected. Probably the most famous greek to useShow MoreRelatedThe dictionary definition of satire is the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose1100 Words à |à 5 PagesThe dictionary definition of satire is the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize peoples stupidity or vices. Significance of Managers
Question: Task 1 Briefly explain: manager, management and organisation. Assess the significance of managers in achieving organisational success for a company of your own choice. Task 2 Analyse how size and strategy of a company can affect its organisational structure? Support your answer with relevant examples. Task 3 Tesco has said it will close 43 unprofitable stores across the UK, The firm is also shelving plans to open a further 49 new "very large" stores. Additionally, Tesco is closing its staff pension scheme, will make cuts of 250m and reduce overheads by 30%. Answer: Introduction The organizations have various structures which they follow and structure is very important to achieve results allowing great no. of people to work as teams to handle various projects effectively. Organizational culture is conceptualized as values which are shared in an organization and they help to shape the behavioral methods of employees (Kotter, 1992). The organizational culture follows a strategy where it recognizes the efforts and contributions of the employees of the organization and it provides an understanding of how these results are to be achieved, the various ways in which they can align their objectives to their organizational objectives and how the employees can achieve their objectives. This concept emphasizes that the organizational culture could be a way of maintaining the employees in line and encouraging them to achieve the organizational objectives. All these different activities are performed by various levels of employees in an Organization like Managers and the people from the Management (Adair, J 1988). Manager A person or an employee who has control or direction of an institution, a business or a specific division. The Managers also help in keeping a track of all their team members and their performance in order to work towards enhancing the performance of the Organization. Management This in itself could be called as a team or a board which is comprised of all the critical employees from an Organizational perspective Organization An organization is a functional unit which is formed in order to perform service or any business of some activity. It mainly comprises of people and based on the scale of the business and the no. of employees it can be further classified as a small or a bigger Organization. Task 1 Significance of managers in achieving organizational success for a company of your own choice Organizational culture is conceptualized as values which are shared in an organization and they help to shape the behavioural methods of employees (Kotter, 1992). We have discussed that an Organizational structure is very important to achieve results allowing great no.of people to work as teams to handle various projects effectively. All these factors contribute a lot to the organizational success (Adair, J 1988). John Adair has developed a simple leadership model which provides a great leadership model to the employees or an organization. Action centred leadership model is also a simple leadership and a management model which is good to adapt in any situation. The 3 parts of Adairs Action Centred Leadership Model have 3 main responsibilities like Achieving the task Managing the teams Managing the people This model has a great advantage which would guide the manager with his responsibilities like responsibilities of a manager to achieve the task and the responsibilities of a manager for the group like Identify the activity Identify the resources, people, processes, systems, skills and tools Create a plan to conduct the task which would include evaluation tools, timelines which are critical for the completion of the projects, strategy and policies which are to be implemented Decide on major factors like responsibilities of the team, organizational objectives, accountability and measures of the team Planning and Strategizing the standards, quality of work, time and reporting standards which are to be followed Monitor and maintain the overall performance plan Report on the progress which has been achieved for the groups objective Timely evaluation and review process of the plan and methods which are used to conduct different processes and work on any of the processes if the results are not effective In all these responsibilities the major factors which are critical for the leadership model are Planning The Action Centred Leadership Model is a model which has a method of managing and leading and this also includes a strong emphasis on applying the principles by using various methods. This model also promotes various situations which involve 2 people who can influence where 50% of motivation is in an individual and 50% of the motivation is from an external source. Task 2 Analyse how size and strategy of a company can affect its organisational structure? The Organizational structure is a framework which most of the companies use to specify their authority and communication processes which they might follow. This framework generally consists of policies, rules and responsibilities for all the individuals in an Organization and most of the times it is employee specific. There are various organizational structures like horizontal structures, vertical structures and virtual structures which can be structured in different ways. The organizations align their activities in a way where they can structure their organizations specialization in some specific markets of international markets. This is done by dividing various tasks into various groups. This can be done by adapting and implementing a structure which is a combination of various aspects which are critical for an organization like Results of the processes The main business processes Target groups Skills of the employees Locations of the business Work timings The organizations have their own form of structures where the employees work in various processes with some responsibilities. The way in which the work gets cascades and the approaches which are followed depend on factors like the skills, performance of the processes and employees, groups and location of the business (Indevelopment, 2012). The method of grouping depends on a lot of factors where the grouping should be able to enhance the progress of various processes in the organization. The effectiveness of the organizational structure also depends on the effectiveness of the processes. The structure influences the motivation levels of the employees. There are various advantages and disadvantages which the grouping process has like the standardization of the processes. The operational processes are divided into various sub processes and each sub process requires employees with various skills, various levels of education and other personal characteristics which are of various advantages. The most critical aspect of this process is that all the processes operate independently without each other (Business Balls 2011). The disadvantage of this process is that all the employees of these processes work independently without any interaction with each other. This might result in a lot of operational differences which might not produce the desired results which could be aligned with the organizational objectives (Todnem, R 2005). Structuring of the organizations would also depend on the cost which would be involved and the skills of the employees which would enhance the organizational performance. We could choose an organization which is an international organization of any business like finance or health based organization. Examples Organizational Structure Designs If we consider a health care company into account then there would be the main departments or the processes of the company mainly which are businesses which are outsources from major clients in the world. Such processes have different roles to play where in the health care business, the Organization would have processes like Customer Service, Collections, Billing, Denials, Operations, Audits, Client Services and many others. The major role which these processes would play is interactions with customers be it customers to the company or clients to the company (Higgs, A.C., 1996). In some of the processes like denials there would be cases where the processes would interact with the 3rd party agencies like in the case of health care business the processes would interact with insurance companies where they have to deal with denials of claims, billing of the claims, collections and Clients. There are departments like Operations which ensure a smooth functioning of the processes by enhancing their skills by organizing and delivering trainings in various fields like health care processes, customer service requests, communication skills and any other skill set required for efficient processing of claims (Todnem, R, 2005). There are departments like portfolio processes which handle any external vendors for organizing any high level strategies with a very little input from the management. Such teams are internally managed by the management in terms of their budgeting, travel, training and any other external vendor management cases (Sjsu 2010). Task 3 a) Tescos current mission, vision and corporate strategy Tesco is an Organization which was built around its customers and colleagues. Its vision helps set the direction of the Organization and the direction it takes to implement its business. Tescos vision is To be the highly valued business by: The customers they serve, the communities in which they operate, their loyal and committed colleagues and their shareholders. Tescos mission statement is We make what matters better, together Tescos corporate strategy is to devise the functional areas and devise the department based specific strategies to ensure their objectives are achieved. They believe that their vision drives their business by embedding their values throughout their strategic planning process. b) Tesco should focus more on diversity by setting up newer stores as their decision was already embraced by their stakeholders and customers. If we consider the example of a consumer brand industry they are significant with their presence in various locations and they are getting more effective in their presence with their marketing initiatives(Robert, M, 2012). Diversity is simply viewed as a multi - cultural aspect where the business is done in multiple locations. Diversity is all about embracing different types of people along with various cultures they come from and it is about supporting different types of people who are believed to be known for various ideas and thinking. Diversity is to have spread into various business organizations however the different ways in which the management implements their business matters the most (Renee, D, 2013). c) Organizational Culture is way different from the Worlds culture, histories, languages and beliefs where they have their own source of identity. Cultures in the world have been changing drastically in different countries and different cultures could be different in terms of their behaviors, culture, language and other differences. The same can be applicable to an Organizational culture as Tesco as well because an Organization is not different from a society or a community. A society or a community are comprised of different people from various backgrounds and cultural beliefs where as an Organization is also the same but it comprises of smaller groups of people than the community or a society as a whole (Balzer, W, 2012). Conclusion All the organizations work towards achieving their objectives by implementing strategies and policies which they might have implemented during their inception to achieve the organizational objectives and to motivate their employees by enhancing their skills to change the organization in a way where it works in an effective way. The Role of Tragic Heroes in Latin American Literature Essay Example
The Role of Tragic Heroes in Latin American Literature Paper Traditionally, tragic heroes begin as perfectly good characters who suffer a change in fortune from happiness to misery due to a mistaken act, which he performs due to his overwhelming natural flaw. An example of this is excessive pride, which overwhelms the tragic heros conscience, hence leading him to violate or ignore a moral law. The tragic hero evokes our pity because he is not thoroughly evil and his misfortune is greater than he deserves. This essay aims to compare and contrast the characters of Esteban Trueba from The House of the Spirits, and Pedro and Pablo Vicario, from Chronicle of a Death Foretold, and explore to what extent these characters can be classified as heroes in a tragic drama. From our very first impressions of the young Esteban, we are shown an ambitious and intelligent man, whose harsh childhood and tragedy of his fiances death, Rosa the Beautiful, imprints bitterness early on in his life. Trying to escape the burdens of his miserable past, Esteban devotes his life to his business and political careers, determined to be rich and powerful, If there was anything that could alleviate the grief and rage of Rosas loss, it would be by breaking his back working in this ruined land1. However, Esteban owes much of his prosperity to the labor of the peasants at Tres Marias, yet he never treats them with respect and is quick to develop a valid reputation for being a tyrant and a rapist. Estebans move to Tres Marias appears satiate his voracious appetite only temporarily, for he only ever experiences fleeting moments of satisfaction before his monstrous and accumulating need eventually overwhelms him. For Esteban, marriage, children, prosperity and power acquired at Tres Marias seemed the perfect solution to all his problems, promising happiness and security. Yet Estebans inability to compromise, his violent temper, callousness and above all, his pride, all combine together as his fatal flaw which inevitably leads to his downfall. In the end, Esteban is left a lonely, broken man as his violent temper and unforgiving and uncompromising character eventually isolates him from those he loved the most. In my deluded solitude, I sat waiting for my son in the armchair of my library, my eyes glued to the doorsill, calling to him with my mind, as I used to call for Clara2. In his old age, political victory and material prosperity have little significance now that Esteban has lived long enough to understand that life without love or family is no longer worth living. He is now reduced to a pitiful old man, left entirely alone just as his sister, Ferula, has accurately predicted. You will al ways be alone. Your body and souls will shrivel up and youll die like a dog! 3 Hence as the novel progresses, Esteban undergoes a dynamic change from an empathic and unfortunate boy to, arguably, an evil despot and with each political and business success, Estebans character deteriorates as his fatal flaws increasingly manifest themselves in his obsessive and violent behavior. Throughout the novel, we are shown unforgivable acts of violence and callousness, to the point where one could argue that he becomes vilified and in fact loses the readers empathy entirely. Yet Esteban is so tragic, because without wanting or choosing to, the more Esteban prospers, the more his incontrollable temper and overwhelming pride drives away those he loves the most. This ultimately leads to his gradual moral deterioration and leaves him utterly alone, and as the story reaches its conclusion, we see that events have turned out justly as Esteban is punished by his own grief and solitude as a direct result of his wrong behavior, and in this he becomes redeemed in our eyes for finally understanding his mistakes. For his redemption lies in his regret and penitence, and in his relinquishment of power and acknowledgement of his failure, He was not crying because he had lost power. He was crying for his country4, thus confirming his role as a tragic hero. In the Columbian town where the narrative of Chronicle of a Death Foretold unfolds, honor is taken with utmost severity, and all the characters in the novel are seen to be strongly influenced by this ultimate ideal, and it is the preservation of this ideal that becomes directly accountable for the murder of Santiago Nasar. For the revelation of their sisters soiled virginity causes dishonor within the family and in order to clear Angelas name and restore the family honor, Pedro and Pablo Vicario take upon them the duty of killing their friend, Santiago, the alleged perpetrator of Angelas virginity. Being trapped in a brutal, repressive and patriarchal society, the twins feel the need to assert their masculinity by displaying their attempts to restore family honor. The brothers were brought up to be men5, and Pablo Vicarios fiance claimed at a later stage during the novel that had he not taken the responsibility to restore family pride, she would not have considered him man enough to marry. However, it becomes apparent that the twins are very reluctant to go through with this act of murder, and by announcing their plans of restoring family honor to the community at large they secretly hope that someone will prevent them from actualizing these plans. Yet very few characters in the novel ever question the twins murder threats for the sake of family honor, due to the significance paid to this fundamental cultural ideal. Thus the community is reduced to passive bystanders, aware of the fatal fate awaiting Santiago, and leaving the twins no choice but to inevitably fulfill their threat. Hence one can question the justice of condemning Pablo and Pedro Vicario of being actual murderers. For despite the brutality of their crime, the real murderer of Santiago Nasar appears to be the community itself for its old-fashioned ideals which surpass morality and the value of life. No evidence is ever found concerning the identity of Angelas perpetrator, and as the novels ambiguity gives reason for the reader to doubt the guilt of Santiago, it seems even more unfair that Santiagos murder should be accepted so naturally and unquestionably. Instead it seems correct to establish the twins as victims of their own time and culture, where the weight of cultural norms and social expectations forced them into a situation they did not want, and in fact tried to avoid. It is ultimately these fatal character flaws their weakness of independent character and inability to stand up for their moral virtues against cultural expectations that makes them candidates for the title of tragic hero. Hence in conclusion, one can establish that both Esteban and the Vicario twins are projected, to different extents, as tragic heroes in their respective novels. Esteban, for his malevolent temper and unyielding pride which ultimate estranges him from those he cherishes the most, leaving him a lonely, broken man to suffer and repent in his old age, and the Vicario twins, who had been brought up to be men which, in all its context, included asserting their masculinity by preserving family honor at any cost even by murdering their friend, thus rendering them victims of their own time and culture. However, tragic as the Vicario twins are ndeed, they fade in comparison to Estebans suitability as a candidate for the title of tragic hero, as the twins tragic flaw lie only in their lack of standing up to cultural expectations, and although they may be victimized in themselves, no event arises to redeem them in the readers eyes. For the Various twins, albeit playing an essential role in a tragedy, cannot entirely be reconciled at tragic heroes as they lack the overwhelming personal character flaw and single obsessive drive to fulfill their ambitions , as seen in they way they secretly actually wish to be prevented from carrying out the murder. Esteban, on the other hand, shows true traits of the traditional tragic hero as his character undergoes dynamic transformations from a pitiful boy struggling for survival through a harsh childhood, to a steady deterioration in morality as his fatal character flaws become ever more salient, and finally to a state of realization and acknowledgement of his mistakes and bad actions, as he realizes that his obsession for self-aggrandizement, his violent temper and his unyielding pride comes back to haunt and overwhelm him. And it is in his last days as a withered and shriveled old man that he is redeemed in our eyes as he repents for his mistakes, and comes to terms with his losses, as well as his attempts to reconcile with his daughter and past, that ultimately mark him as the tragic hero of Allendes The House of the Spirits.
